Frigidarium Bergamo: Reviews & Ratings

We tried ice cream from 3 different places during our stay in Bergamo and this one was the best. We even made sure to come back before we left, so we could eat their amazing ice cream once more. Their Sant' Alessandro ice cream, a variation on Bergamo's classic stracciatella ice cream, was absolutely delicious. Their regular stracciatella, chocolate and nutella ice cream were also astounding. Definitely recommend!

Frigidarium Bergamo stands out as a true gem in the heart of Bergamo, located at Via Sant'Alessandro, 28/B. This gelateria has earned a devoted following, and rightfully so. From the very first scoop, it’s clear that their gelato is crafted with care and passion, blending classic Italian tradition with local flair.

Their signature Sant'Alessandro ice cream, a unique twist on the traditional Bergamo stracciatella, showcases the brand’s creativity and respect for regional flavors. Rich, creamy, and dotted with delicate chocolate shards, this flavor reveals layers of texture and taste that linger on the palate. Regular stracciatella, along with chocolate and Nutella offerings, are equally impressive—each scoop delivering a perfect balance of sweetness and natural ingredients.

Price-wise, Frigidarium offers tremendous value, with a scoop costing just €2.50, making it accessible without sacrificing quality. While the shop doesn't have seating, the allure of their gelato more than compensates, inviting patrons to explore Bergamo’s streets as they savor every spoonful.

For those seeking something fresh and vibrant, the lemon gelato is a standout—creamy yet refreshingly light, void of any icy texture. This bright, citrus flavor adds a delightful contrast to the richer chocolate and nutty options, rounding out a diverse menu that caters to all tastes.

Overall, Frigidarium Bergamo is not just a stop for dessert; it’s a destination. Every visit here feels like discovering a little piece of Bergamo’s soul served in a cup or cone. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, the quality and flavor depth found here make it a must-visit for gelato lovers craving authentic Italian indulgence.
